We’ve hand picked five fabulous London venues for you … not your average kind of event space!
The Big Chill House
Just a stride (or two!) away from St Pancras International Station is the Big Chill House where the relaxed spaces work equally well for evening dinners or informal daytime meetings. With a maximum capacity of 144 for a theatre style meeting, the venue can do 550 for a stand up drinks event.
The games room has Monopoly boards on its ceiling … a nice touch!
But the real surprise element to this place has to be the private roof terrace. We definitely suggest (weather permitting) you incorporate it into your event plan to change the energy and mix things up a bit … especially good for team building sessions.
With an adivsory board that includes Jamie Oliver, Yotam Ottolenghi and Nigella Lawson, Hawker House stands more than a fair a chance of being something a little bit special … and it really does deliver in spades.
We loved the never ending potential of this great venue, just a five minute walk from Canada Water tube station South of the River.
The incredible warehouse space (capacity of 2,500) has nine brilliant bars, fourteen epic street food traders and loads of extra room for you to play around with. In the summer months ‘The Land of Bamboo’ outdoor space takes the venue up to 3,500 … filled with sand pits, trampolines, tiki huts and a giant towering fire pit.
Sometimes a big venue can feel intimidating, but here the sense is more one of excitement at all the options. We’ll keep this one up our sleeves for bigger events that need space to b-r-e-a-t-h-e!
The Old Truman Brewery
The Old Truman Brewery has been regenerating its ten acres of vacant and derelict buildings into spectacular office, retail, leisure and event spaces for over twenty years … it’s been well worth the time and effort! It’s an amazing venue with so many possibilities. The multitude of spaces work for loads of different events … everything from an exhibition to a product launch or a conference which demands plenty of break out areas.
The whole venue has a great feel which reflects the whole Shoreditch vibe and has space for 2000 for a drinks reception and 200 for meetings. We particularly loved the newly refurbed 2nd floor space which lends itself to so many different types of event.
Our top tip? Go visit the place before you make any decisions because the possibilities really are endless!
Another unique space close to St Pancras is Egg London … officially the ‘Coolest Multi-Purpose Venue’ according to the Cool Venue Awards 2015.
With an events team always keen to help clients get the most out of the venue, Egg is a down and dirty kind of place … in the best possible way!
450 people can get into the party spirit here and the venue can cater for 200 people for a more formal theatre style event.
We’ll be putting this one up for informal events and evening parties to get the best out of the spaces.
O2 Building Six
The not so imaginative name belies a great ‘superclub’ where amazing sound and lighting comes as standard … no hidden extra costs here.
For evening events and parties, this place really does have it all. Bags of space across three huge floors, an outside terrace with spectacular views across London and more parking than you can throw a stick at!
3000 people can enjoy the club style venue and you can add an extra 700 if you use the terrace.
We’d recommend this place for upbeat events that need sophisticated staging and an experienced team … to help make sure things run smoothly on event day.
